Wallet of Satoshi is the easiest way to start accepting Bitcoin. It’s not the most advanced option, but it gets you accepting payments in minutes with zero technical setup. Perfect for farmer’s markets, pop-up shops, and anyone trying Bitcoin payments for the first time.
Creating an invoice
To accept a payment, you generate an invoice — a QR code your customer scans to send the exact amount. Here’s how:
Open the app and tap “Receive”
Fill in the invoice
Empty invoice, tap “Amount / Note”
Tap the zero to add the amount, and optionally add a note
QR code ready to be scanned
💡
Tips:
Make sure the top of the screen says “Lightning” not “Bitcoin On-Chain.”
Tap the Lightning bolt icon to switch to Lightning.
You can set the price in sats or your local currency. Switch between the two with the arrows button.
Have customer scan the QR code
You can copy the Lightning URL and send it to the customer if they can’t scan the QR code. It’s a long alphanumerical string starting with “lnbc1”.
If you want to be able to accept bitcoin when you’re not at your business, write down the address located below the QR code on the Receive screen (xxxxxx@walletofsatoshi.com).
💡
Tips:
The QR code is dynamic and is regenerated for every new invoice. Once the invoice is paid, the QR code will be invalid. To accept payments without a phone, write down the address in the red box above. This is your wallet’s address and the customer can send bitcoin to it even if your phone is off.
Receiving a payment
Once the customer scans and pays, here’s what you’ll see:
Payment received confirmation
Payment received!
History shows all transactions
Tap a transaction to see full details

Securing your bitcoin
Wallet of Satoshi is a great starting point but it has limitations. Here’s what to know and what to do next.
⚠️
Important: Wallet of Satoshi is a hot wallet — it’s connected to the internet and not designed for long-term storage of significant funds. As your Bitcoin balance grows, you should move it to cold storage.
Transfer to cold storage
To fully secure your Bitcoin, withdraw it from Wallet of Satoshi and transfer it to a cold storage wallet like a Coldcard or Trezor. Generate a receiving address from your cold storage wallet, copy it, then tap “Send” in Wallet of Satoshi.
Tap the Paste button
Input the amount of bitcoin, verify the address, and Send
